If Sony’s PS3 gaming system took a step backward in functionality when Sony disabled its ability to install Linux, it’s just taken two steps forward again.

t4nav, a Senior Member of xda-developers, has just discovered a method to hack the PS3 using a Nexus One or a Desire! All you have to do is:

Download this http://www.mediafire.com/?cgst1aw26i26b60

and place it’s contents onto the root of your SD-card.

Then download my flashable boot.img http://cl.ly/83b21dd1818a791d857e

Place that on the root of your card, Reboot into recovery and flash the PS3-signed.zip

Reboot your phone.

Launch terminal

...

Earlier this year reports surfaced that Motorola was working on a smartphone with a 2 GHz processor, but one of our tipsters is now telling us that quote was taken out of context and they are actually going to be using the dual-core Tegra 2 processor from NVIDIA.

The original information came from ConceivablyTech that quoted Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha as saying his company would deliver a smartphone with a 2 GHz processor and NVIDIA Tegra-based graphics. We doubted that report since no 2 GHz mobile processors had been announced, but CNET confirmed the remark (with Moto spokeswoman Juli Bruda) that Jha promised such a device to his Chicago audience in June.

Now we have evidence that LG and Samsung are likely to launch dual-core smartphones this year and you can bet that Motorola will have a competing product for the holiday shopping season....

RSS feed brought to you by the Android and Me Store

karma: 0 | votes: 0 | clicks: 0 | comments: 0

blog: Android and Me | original post

That event is and remains press-only and looks to be an unveiling of a new phone, or phones, and possibly a tablet or unicorn. If you're not in the press and still want to attend an HTC event on the same day, they have scheduled a free meet-up at Redhook, a seafood restaurant in Central London.

According to HTC's Facebook page, there will be food, drinks, music and phones (to play with) for attendees. They did also say that they will be giving some devices out, so you could wind up with a free new phone!

So if you live anywhere near London you should check it out! It's free and is something to look forward to on a Wednesday night! [HTC's Facebook Event]

Posted originally at Android Central

Sponsored by Android Cases and Accessories
